Judith's Birthday

Today is my pen-pals birthday, well I say pen-pal that's how we started out a good few years ago now, but we hare much more than that, we have contact nearly every day, but we still put pen to paper. Judith has always been there for me but this last year she has really pulled out all the stops and I am and will be forever grateful and blessed to have her as my friend, these are the little things I made for her to go with the bought presents.

Applique  card I made her, the watering can and he heart is idea is from the quilt I want to start making later this year, but this is my own version I had to draw it to get it to fit  the card, drawing isn't my strong point, I'm amazed when I manage basic shapes.

This is something I stitching a little while ago,

I turned it into a notebook cover,

The inside

Plus I popped in a little tissue case, I have a feeling I will be making a few of these.

Happy Birthday Judith, I love you my dear friend. x

Bye fore now

Happy Birthday Jean

Today is my friend Jeans Birthday, she is such a lovely lady. Jean reads my blog so I couldn't post these until today. These are the things I made her along with her main present.

I did share the mug but not what it turned into, Jean's card.

I made her a patterned daisy, with a pink flower Jean likes pink

Plus a tissue case.

The back.

Jean sent me a text she has the flower on and the tissue holder in her bag so I would say that means they were a hit, I'm so pleased.

Happy Birthday Jean, have a great day

By for now

L'amour

Hi there, in January I teased you with what I had stitched Hubby for Valentines day In this post Well I promised I would show you on the day itself, so here it is.

The pattern was in  Cross Stitcher, they suggested to make a card with it but I thought I would make it a bit more.

Hubby hasn't seen it yet, we exchanged cards at 6am this morning.  I will give it to him when he gets home from work, I hope he likes it.

Wishing you all a happy Valentines Day, hope you have a nice loving day x

First there were hens, then there were....

Egg Cosies

I've seen a few ways of making egg cosies, but I decided to go with the way they were in Cross Stitcher, When I cut the egg shape out I left the piece with the stitching on longer than the felt shapes and hemmed in on what will be the inside of the egg cosies  then the stitching is attached onto the felt with running stitching tucking in the edges in as you go, I also went round and did a little slip stitch to make sure it didn't come undone mainly because even weave is very prone to unravelling. pop some ribbon in between the second piece of felt and sew back into the same running stitch and hey presto you are done.

They are going to be two little Easter presents

Set one

Set two
This is my first go at egg cosies and I think I am going to make a few more. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Hens have been stitched

I can't tell you how pleased I am to make a post about something I have done, I pop around to your blogs and I think wow you all do so well.

I started these guys on 11th January and today I have finished the cross stitch side of things

These are from an old cross stitch, I knew where I first saw them I wanted to stitch them.

I did this little guy first

Followed by this chap

Then this guy, I really like his head

Last but not least this fella, finished not very long ago.
I am gong to turn them into little Easter gifts, there are a few ways of doing it, and I am still thinking about it, but I am itching to finish them, having said that if I may need to order some fabric so I am going to have to wait for that to arrive.

Getting started

So i've made a list, now its time to jump in a get started, I plumped for which special day is first Valentines day, we don't go overboard, and get involved in a big way, most of the time we do cards and I make effort with the meal and maybe watch a dvd in the evening, but year I decided I wanted to make hubby a little something,

First project of 2013

I started it Wednesday (above) and Thursday night I had the main body done (below),I am going to add a little something to it order the frame, I'm trying a new place so I'll let you know how that goes. I will reveal it on the special day.

My next project this time with Easter in mind.

This time I am using even-weave, which I haven't used in a while and in fact not used that often, so know you know what I will be doing with my crafting time. I hope you have got some fun things planned

At the start of 2012 I made this for a friends 50th birthday, I am happy to say she loved it. I really enjoyed stitching it for her and loved the result, and I love knowing she has it on the wall of her craft room.

Plus a matching gift tag.
