Dotty

At the start of January, I blogged about what I would like to do Craft 2013 although that list was in no particular order as they say, second on the list was buy a new sewing machine, now I had no idea how that was going to come about, but you know how sometimes, things just fall into place, well I am so pleased to tell you they did, I had already decided which machine I wanted, before this I have had a couple of machines both quite basic, and this one is mid range but to me its a big jump, well my new baby arrived yesterday.....

I put my order in on Friday and on the website due for delivery  6th Feb, but on Sunday night, a email popped itself into my inbox saying it had been dispatched, did that mean I could hope they it would arrive Monday? Well just incases, (from a film I love) I was up at 6 on Monday morning, washed dressed all ready to answer the door from 7.30am onwards, I kept telling myself don't get too excited it is probably coming Wednesday but mid-day the door went and it was HERE.

I decided to have lunch first, because I didn't want to get it out the box and then have to move it. Then out the box she came, I sat and read the manual twice, would you believe I was scared to turn her on? Eventually at 7.30 last night I turned her own wound a bobbin, and threaded her both of which she did like a dream and I tested her out, well lets just say I think we are going to have many happy years together.

One more thing, I had this urge to name her,  I've come up with Dotty. Why?  I love polka dots.

What a lovely machine, I can understand totally your reluctance to switch on, I was exactly the same with my new machine I bought last year after 36 years with my old one, my new one is called Daisy.
